So... went to Franklin's today, and really don't understand what all the hype for the place comes from. It is like the Emperor's New Clothes story. Or maybe god blessed that place for some reason. Why there always is a ridiculously long line there is beyond me. Want great all around BBQ? Do yourself a favor, open up your pocket and try Brazilian (Fogo de Chão). You r hard core on Texan BBQ? No problem, but would still recommend Salt Lick 1st (no airport here..) or Stiles Switch 2nd. This is comming in a late 3rd. My rating:
Pulled pork *** as expected for a regular BBQ place
Sausage **1/2 very fat >>> similar to Pokejo's
Brisket ***1/2 my meat came with a lot of lard >>> their secret ingredient?
Poato salad **1/2 they serve this at fridge temp
Service *** nothing special
Beer sellection ** just 2 local draft beers; the rest is served in cans (really?)
Overall rating ***

Would just go back to Salt Lick in Round Rock for some good old fashion Texan BBQ

Charge (Charlie Hebdo inspired)

Well... I hope it speaks for itself. I really wanted to make something intelligent and profound, and kinda lighthearted at the same time. So I went through some research, and to my suprise, both religions (the israeli's and the palestinian's) had famous symbols valuing life... Which is suprising if you are going to think about it. Ironic to say the least.

The Loneliest (and Toughest) Dude Alive

That would be mr. Albert Woodfox, living in solitary confinment since a time when preseident Nixon was still president (around 1972). He lives to this very day in solitary confinement, and also enduring constant cavity searches..!!?? Yeah, this part sounds ridiculous. He is in solitary confirnment for fourty something years and the guards are doing cavity searches to him on a daily basis? This sounds like some kind of creepy sadistic guard sh**t. Aside from the more than questionable lable to this prisoner as maximum security, why would there be reaons to believe he is up to something after decades of solitary confinement and a history of good behavior? (yeah...people are stupid)

This man hasn't admitted guilt because he is convinced of his innocence. Had he pleaded guilt, he would have been released years ago. But according to NY Times, there was no physical evidence linking him to the crime (he supposedly killed a guard back in 1972); and believe it or not, even the victim's widow believes he is innocent! Mr. Woodfox is convinced he was framed because of his ties with the Black Panther Party.

Head doctors say that a man can be seriously tortured when solitary confinement surpasses 15 days. What should we say of mr. Woodfox then? This guy is as tough as they come. Respect
